5. Bottom cover
Here is where things become complicated for the inexperienced. This is your last chance to bail!
1) Remove (16) screws using #1 phillips as follows (number, length, thread color, location):
(11) medium, red, from bottom
(1) long, unpainted, from near heatsink
(1) short, blue, from back by LAN port (not shown)
(1) long, blue/silver, from under keyboard by screen cable connector
(1) short, blue, from under keyboard, left of center
(1) medium, red, from under keyboard by left hinge (under screen power wire)
2) From beneath keyboard, disconnect ribbons and cables including LCD ribbon, touchpad ribbon, and LCD power plug.
3) GENTLY close and latch screen.
4) GENTLY, starting near DC power plug, pry loose cover finishing at the VGA port. Pull cover out and away from VGA port to free. Clips are located at front. NOTE: IF IT WON’T EASILY COME FREE, YOU HAVE PROBABLY MISSED A SCREW. DON’T FORCE IT!!
